Landmarks in Cagayan de Oro City | Limketkai & Sons Milling Corporation

Great structures are also great landmarks, like in the compound of the Limketkai Milling Corporation in Cagayan de Oro City. All I can remember about this rare structure is that it became a landmark in the City since early 1980s. As you can see, those steel containers were approximately less than 10% of its size each container as compare to that concrete cylindrical formed structures. The technical term of this structure is a concrete cylindrical silo with 10-12 storey high or roughly 36-40 meters in height in terms of meters. Imagine that height  of a building / structure in CDO City, which until now, this structure is still uniquely and incomparably built in this City.

I could say right now that this is one of my milestones in my life to see and have some photos on this uniquely and incomparably built structures in Cagayan de Oro City. I haven't seen yet in this type of structures in Bukidnon in my appraisal career, as big as this one.

The Narra Tree - 15 years old more or less

One improvement in the area which made me stunned is the Narra Tree that stood still within the compound in the midst of fully developed area. The narra tree is estimated at more than 15 years. It is indeed a manifestation that the owners of LKKS are also a nature lover. You can also see lots of Narra Trees planted in the center island of the complex road in Limketkai Complex. Those trees were planted also in the early 1980s.

Limketkai Manufacturing Corporation is the maker of the following cooking oils.

I've met familiar faces in this compound, like the brother of my classmate in High School, Dr. Joseph Poblacion. His brother is now the in-charge of the sales and marketing of their product. He is also my school mate in XUHS, but  not so senior to us. The head of their security (need not to mention), who is my neighbor in Cagayan de Oro and their friendly Plant Engineer, Engr. Tong. Thanks to all of you in allowing me to take some pictures in some of the structures in the compound. I am proud of this structure being a son of BUCAG (Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro).

This landmark is located about 400 meters from the SM (Save More), the new Agora Market and the on-going construction Ayala Center Site fronting the Gaisano City which is 600 meters more or less from this landmark.
