Cagayan de Oro City | A Gateway to Northern Mindanao

Cagayan de Oro, because of its geographical position and location in Northern Mindanao, has been tagged as the "Gateway of Northern Mindanao". Have you been in this City lately? If not yet, so, here's my update for you on its new development, especially in Limketkai Mall Complex. You will no longer experience problem in finding a vacant hotel in this bustling city in Northern Mindanao, especially on peak season or if there are occasions that sometimes hotels are in fully booked. Lets now welcome this new development in the City.

LimKetKai commercial complex is a homegrown mall complex in this City. It is now in their full swing in the construction of their 21-Storey Hotel. The Hotel is located right adjacent to the Limketkai Gateway Tower, fronting the Mindanao University Science and Technology or MUST.

This structure is a structural steel-framed design. A High Rise Building of 21-storey, the first ever built skyscraper in the City since the construction of the 7-storey VIP Hotel in 1980s. The hotel is estimated to be completed in 2014 more or less.

The building is now on its way to the 7th floor.

I will update you soon if the hotel is already 100% complete.
Another New Development in the area :

It was also noted that a branch of Starbucks is in full operation within the complex for more than 3 months now. Good for those who love coffee and who tasted the yummy flavor of their coffee.You may not feel so craving to taste again their coffee since she is now within your reach. I've got a chance to take some photos on this establishment coz my wife and my son requested me to buy their preferred starbucks coffee.

Another Development in Cagayan de Oro is the on-going construction of Paseo del Rio at Rotunda, Macasandig of this City, designed by Palafox Associates. Below are their photos;

Please see below my aerial photo view of  Rotunda;

According to PROGRESS WATCH, who monitors the development of Cagayan de Oro City, averred that, "the concept of Paseo del Rio is a multi-use approach of development in the project site that will boost of high-rise waterfront buildings and global-sized hotels of at least 350 rooms, restaurants, mixed-use commercial and business centers, playground, covered walkways, bicycle lanes, gazebo, rotunda, underground parking, amenities and recreational facililities".
The Rotunda is donated by the prominent figure of the City, the GOPEL Group of Companies, represented by CEO Ms. Rafaelita P. Pelaez and strategically located at the foot of Kagay-an Bridge that connects to Barangay Carmen. Paseo del Rio will eventually emerge as Cagayan de Oro City’s newest growth area within the Urban Center in the next few years.

A gateway to Northen Mindanao, it is also the only gateway that is near from Bukidnon-Cagayan de Oro City. A city where I grew up, finished my college and where my parents and relatives live.

    Tonz. Matagal na nga talaga ang 1997. Kung sa may Velez Street ka dumaan, may isang medium rise hotel dun, ito yong namention ko na VIP Hotel. Itong velez street nato ay ito yong nilakad ni James last year. Business parks / district is the real backbone of local economy, that is right. Central Business District kumbaga.:-).
