Old Parian District : Heritage of Cebu Monument

 Heritage of Cebu Monument in Parian Park

The weather was in an overcast condition when we visited this part of Old Parian District of Cebu. It was not kind to me or perhaps I just don't know how to handle in taking photos of huge sculptures or rather my camera is not capable of wide angle as the pro used to do it, these were the results of my photos.

Anyway, this was only a documentation of our Heritage Tour de Cebu.

 The Galleon, and Churches built by the Colonizers

Due to my amazement with this monumental structure or this splendid sculptural works, I didn't mind anymore the right composure while taking these photos.

I observed, that those human sculptures were made of intricately designed bronze metal with the replica of the built churches during Spanish colonial period, as the backdrop. These are miniature on a larger scale. I don't have much words to say on these structures, but they were an awe-inspiring work of art, which you shouldn't miss during your visit in Cebu.
 Feast of the Sto Niño de Cebu

And these are the lexis inscribed on the tablet, mounted on a concrete pedestal near the park, goes like this;
The pride, unity and cultural wealth of a race emanate from a people's sense of self and history; from the early Filipinos, to the dawn of European Colonization, the Revolution of 1896, the birth of Philippine Republic. The heroic contribution of the Cebuano people.and the saga of events which transpired on the Island of Cebu, are vital elements in the formulation of the nation we know today.
Their contribution should rightfully be emulated, immortalized and honored in a lasting monumental, aesthetic experience.
This work of art in Parian Park is the loving legacy of the City and the Province of Cebu. This monumental-sculptural tableau is in honor to the people of Cebu and is a tribute to all Filipino people and the wealth of our race.

Old Parian District is just near from the Mactan Cebu International Airport. Ride a taxi and you can reach that place within 30-45 minutes.

Tips or your Guide :
But be sure that you ride a taxi with a working taxi meter. Do not engage with a contract agreement without using the meter. That's a no, no decision especially locals who are first time in Cebu. Be sensible.
