Presidential Proclamation No. 455, Series of 2012, DECLARING MONDAY, 20 AUGUST 2012, AS A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EID’L FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN) or end of Ramadhan.

The Proclamation No. 455 further stressed out that in connection with the Republic Act No 9177, it declared Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) as a regular holiday throughout the country. The Eid’l Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim World for three (3) days after the end of the month of fasting.

The fasting started last July this year.
This is also to promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join the Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr; and in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness.

Approved by: President Benigno S. Aquino III, August 13, 2012.

HAPPY RAMADAN TO ALL OUR MUSLIM BROTHERS

  1. Thank you for informing us about that. Some people says that August 21 and 27 are also non-working day? I really don't know what is the reason, can you please tell us? Thanks in advance.
