Philippine Football Federation National Smart Club Championship in Bukidnon

Bukidnon FA press conference at Green Ridge Apartelle and Restaurant
In Malaybalay City
The Philippine Football National Smart Club Championship kick-started with a press conference at the Green Ridge Apartelle and Restaurant here in Malaybalay City, Province of Bukidnon.

I was able to attend the Press Conference with the invitation of Ms. Maite Abellanosa, the owner of Ohana Adventures, an outdoor sports coordinator and organizer, with her hubby, Dr. Rachito Abellanosa.

It is also during the press conference, held last October 16, 2012, where I learned that FIFA (Federation Internatianale de Football Association), donated $500,000.00 (or roughly P21 Million) to construct a  Football Training Center, in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The site is under a usufruct condition, wherein the owner of the land, the Gamboa family has only the administrative right over the property for a certain period of time set forth in a legal agreement.
Usufruct :  Usufruct is a right in a property owned by another, normally for a limited time or until death. It is the right to use the property, to enjoy the fruits and income of the property, to rent the property out and to collect the rents, all to the exclusion of the underlying owner. The usufructuary has the full right to use the property but cannot dispose of the property nor can it be destroyed.

The extent of usufruct is defined by agreement and may be for a stated term, covering only certain stated properties, it could be set to terminate if certain conditions are met, such as marriage of a child or remarriage of a spouse, it can be granted to several people to share jointly, and it can be given to one person for a period of time and to another after some stated event occurs.

The site is located in Hindangon, Valencia City, Bukidnon, to be exact.

Mr. Ramon Manlunas, President of Bukidnon Football Association or Bukidnon FA for short, disclosed that Bukidnon will have a World Class Football Training Center by year 2013. Its expected opening will be in May 2013.

Valencia City, won the bid to be qualified in the FIFA selection process. Among the contenders for the FIFA Football Training Center that included in the selection process,  were Davao, Dapitan and Tagum.

The groundbreaking was held in July 2012, wherein Bukidnon FA will personally supervise the construction, as disclosed by Ms. Mary Joy Gamboa, the BUFA Secretary General during the press conference.

Valencia City is strategically located at the heart of Mindanao and center of trading of Bukidnon, Mr Manlunas added. And having a World Class Football Training Center here, that is something that the Valencianos must be proud of and the Bukidnon people as a whole. On a personal note, I am also proud of this new development in our own Province. This  will also boost the sports tourism sector of the province.

The Championship game started in October 17, 2012 and ended up last October 21, 2012.

The football tournament was participated with teams coming from Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Butuan, Surigao and Bukidnon, all from Northern Mindanao and was held in the Provincial Capitol Ground in Malaybalay City.

Two (2) winning teams will be drawn from Mindanao, two (2) from Visayas and two (2) from Luzon. These six (6) teams, will compete for the National Championship.
There was no formal culmination on the last day of the Championship Tournament, Mary Joy Gamboa, told the author of Con Tour Blog.

The Iligan team, or the ILNOFA (Iligan Lanao del Norte Football Association) won over the BANFA (Butuan Agusan del Norte FA) with 5-2 score.

The ILNOFA will now be qualified for the Mindanao Qualifying Tournament, which will be held in Davao, to represent Mindanao Cluster D for Mindanao Finals on November 23 to 26 at the Tiongko Field, Mary Joy Gamboa, further averred.
Press Conference, attended by some of the members of BPBS and the Bukidnon News
Good Luck Bukidnon FA. Go on with your noble intention to train deserving kids in football.

A personal thanks to Ms. Maite Abellanosa and her husband Dr. Rachito Abellanosa for inviting us. To Ms. Mary Joy "Jojo" Gamboa for the additional information that she relayed to the author.
